Main complaint: Numbness in left side of body

Diagnosis:

Vata dosha observations:

Nirama kapha in large intestines indicating incomplete bowel evacuations, sama vata in lungs and pericardium - shallow breathing and snoring (pulmonary hypertension suspected), sama vata in gall bladder - cervical pains, sama vata in liver - fatty and enlarged liver, sama vata in stomach with ushnatvam - hyperacidity, sama vata in small intestines - improper digestion and assimilation of foods, restless, anxious and with disturbed sleep

Pitta dosha observations:

Low jatharagni, nirama pitta in urinary bladder - incomplete bladder evacuation

Kapha dosha observations:

Sama kapha in prana vayu, majja dhatu and ajna chakra - resistance to perception, sama kapha in meda dhatu - increased cholesterol and triglyceride levels, sama kapha in anahata chakra - low on self worth, sama kapha in kledaka kapha (increased alkaline mucus formation), sama kapha in swadhistana chakra - erectile dysfunction

Systolic and diastolic pressures are high

Comments

With this diagnosis, we found that low self worth being the core feeling which causes emotional disturbance. The right lobe of the brain triggers emotional response. Hence, when self worth is compromised, the left side of the body gets affected. Further, the symptoms are aggravated due to improper functioning of Apana vayu (large intestines) and Prana vayu (lungs).

The patient has almost recovered from his condition with medication and emotional, psychological therapies and appropriate ayurvedic medicines.

Case Study 2

Main Complaint: Diabetes

Diagnosis:

Root cause identified:

Nirama kapha with gurutvam and sthoulyam in conscious mind  indicating stubbornness. Sama vata with gurutvam and sthoulyam in tejas indicates anxiety with stubbornness and short tempered, cannot withstand long conversations and decision making has to be quick. Sama vata with kathinyam and ushnam in tamas and ojas indicating disturbed sleep and thoughts of despair, anger, harsh challenges in past that reflect in his sleep.

He is having a troubled marital relationship and has evidence of blood sugar shooting up during this phase.

Parents are extremely attached to him which presently is causing him to feel uncomfortable only because he feels they don't have to overdo it.

Vata dosha observations:

Nirama vata in kathinyam and ushnam in lungs indicating snoring at times and low lung pressure. He speaks in his sleep. Sama vata with kathinyam and ushnam in liver indicating high fasting sugars. Sama vata with teekshnam and ushnam in spleen indicates lymphatic system is not flushing out toxins. This causes blood sugar levels to go up. Sama vata with gurutvam and sthoulyam in tejas indicates anxiety with stubbornness and short tempered, cannot withstand long conversations and decision making has to be quick. Sama vata with kathinyam and ushnam in tamas and ojas indicating disturbed sleep and thoughts of despair, anger, harsh challenges in past that reflect in his sleep. Sama vata in kidneys with kathinyam and ushnam indicating increased creatinine levels, proteinuria. Sama pitta in urinary bladder indicating proteinuria.

Pitta dosha observations:

Sama pitta with kathinyam and ushnam in stomach with kathinyam and ushnam in kledaka kapha indicating less of mucosin secretions and burnout of ingested foods resulting in drastic fall in blood sugars levels.

Kapha dosha observations:

Nirama kapha with kathinyam and ushnam in large intestines indicating hard stools present. Apana vayu is indicating upward movement indicating pain in sacral-coccyx region. Nirama kapha with gurutvam and sthoulyam in conscious mind  indicating stubbornness. Sama kapha with gurutvam, sthoulyam but picchilatvam in Meda Dhatu indicating good cholesterol is low and bad cholesterol is increasing. Ushnam is present in blood. Systolic and diastolic pressures show kathinyam, ushnam and picchilatvam indicating high blood pressure. The picchilatvam is due to some hash (ganja) he had taken as suggested by a chiropractor to increase lower back pain tolerance.

He is on blood pressure medication.

Vikriti observations - He is of Pitta Vata in altered constitution at present with increased kathinyam and ushnam.

Case Study 3

Main Complaint: Emotional and Mental Health

Diagnosis:

Root cause identified:

Sama kapha in conscious state indicating unhappiness, lack of love in self as well as relationships. Nirama vata in tejas with teekshnam and ushnam indicating lack of patience, anxiety (wanting to get out of guilt situation at the earliest). Sama vata in tamas with kathinyam and ushnam indicating disturbed sleep. Nirama pitta in anahata chakra indicating anger and resentment towards mother.

Vata dosha observations:

Nirama vata with teekshnam and ushnam in large intestines indicating prognosis of external piles. Nirama vata with ushnatvam and nervousness in small intestines is causing malnourishment and resulting in hair fall. Nirama vata with teekshnam and ushnam in lungs causing stiffness in bronchi and alveoli resulting in low oxygen intake. Nirama vata with kathinyam and ushnam in kidneys indicates increased uric acid levels resulting in stiffness in muscles and formation of heel spur. Nirama vata in heart with kathinyam, ushnam, indicating nervousness, self critical, sama vata in pericardium with ushnam indicating loneliness and resentment towards self.

Pitta dosha observations:

Nirama pitta in ranjaka pitta indicating burning sensation in eyes, stiffness in ocular muscles causing blurred vision and shadow forms (does not like what she is doing). Nirama pitta in meda dhatu indicating depleting lipids causing chills during the day and even in hot weather.

Kapha dosha observations:

Nirama kapha with ushnam in gall bladder indicating thick bile secretions. Nirama kapha in stomach with ushnam and sama kapha in kledaka kapha with kathinyam and ushnam indicating depletion of mucosin secretions resulting in erosion of stomach lining causing dry heat and bloating. Eating is not out of hunger but out of a feeling of wanting to eat. Sama kapha in rakta dhatu with kathinya and ushnam indicating kathinyam and ushnam indicating accumulation of toxins. This attributes to bad food timing. Sama kapha in swadhistana chakra with kathinyam and ushnam indicating mennorhagia with clots and painful menses. Sama kapha in asthi dhatu and vishuddhi chakra indicates withholding communication resulting in joint pains and a prognosis of high T3-T4 levels.

Vikrti indicates Pitta Vata dosha with ushnam.

Sama kapha with kathinyam and ushnam in liver indicates non-alcoholic fatty liver with increased liver metabolism which is the cause of skin conditions of itching, rash, and urticaria.

Vata dosha observations:

Sama kapha in large intestines has replaced vata and is causing low bowel pressure.
Sama vata in lungs is causing low lung pressure.
Nirama vata with gurutvam and picchilatvam in heart indicates weak heart muscles.
Sama vata with kathinyam and ushnam in kidneys indicate increased uric acid levels and high blood pressure.
Nirama vata with gurutvam and sthoulyam in dosha circulation indicating stiffness and vata dosha spreading and affecting the weak parts of the body.

Pitta dosha observations:

Sama pitta in conscious mind, Prana and in tejas indicating anger from judgment.
Sama pitta with teekshnam and ushnam in shukra dhatu (nape of neck) causing sharp shooting pains in cervical region and in shoulders.
Sama pitta with teekshnam and ushnam in shukra dhatu (mid back) indicates pain and suffering in relationships.

Kapha dosha observations:

Sama kapha with kathinyam and ushnam in liver indicates non-alcoholic fatty liver with increased liver metabolism which is the cause of skin conditions of itching, rash, and urticaria.
Sama kapha in sadhaka pitta indicates unhappiness from unfulfilled desires.
Nirama kapha with teekshnam and ushnam indicates lack of quality hunger.
Nirama kapha with kathinyam an ushnam in small intestines causing slow digestion and fermentation of of foods.

Vikriti indicates Vata Pitta dosha with Kathinyam and ushnam replacing Vata.

Comments

Patient had taken allopathic and Ayurvedic medications earlier but did not get relief. She is yet to start therapies and medications.
